last night was the end of an era

the
"legendary epicenter of the punk movement"
"New York's temple of Punk Rock"
CBGB
played its final show

and nobody other than the godmother of punk
Patti Smith
was enlisted to bring down the house

once and for all

matt and i were lucky enough to stop by one last time
earlier in the week
and were sad to see it go

but the music never fades
never dies
never finishes

not punk
not soul
not jazz
not classical

it was the end of an era
that's for sure

but it wasn't the end of us
